About Mark

Working in mixed media, Mark starts his work on location looking for interesting light and compositions and then takes all the information and ideas back to his studio and works from the drawings to create the finished paintings.

The British coastline and countryside are his inspiration. He tries to capture the mood of a scene, often through weather or light and its affects on the surroundings. Mark uses layers of paint and other materials to create a heavy texture to the work

Mark often visits the same place more than once, but each time the scene is changed by the light, weather, flora and seasons.
