About Maria

Maria is a freelance illustrator living in Cornwall. Since 2005 she has worked both freelance and also as an ‘in house’ designer and illustrator.

Maria’s work is versatile, she works both digitally and traditionally and loves to explore mixed media and visual narrative, especially creating fun quirky characters. Storytelling is a big part of her work, inspired by overheard conversations, human behaviour, the outdoors and the colours of the Cornish landscape.

Throughout her career as an illustrator, Maria has been commissioned to produce work for a wide variety of clients that demonstrate a broad subject matter.
She has illustrated for children’s book illustration, editorials for magazines, pattern design for craft magazines, educational artwork, greeting cards and info graphics.
