About Daphne
Daphne Baxter received her formal training at Hornsey School of Art in London and for a time worked as a commercial artist in London.
After marriage Daphne spent time farming in Suffolk, England, which stimulated an enduring interest in wildlife and birds. Daphne also studied interior design, which she practiced for several years, meanwhile developing her skills in painting living creatures.
Daphne now lives in Hertfordshire, England, in a 17th century cottage set in woodlands which form an unspoilt ecological reserve. This provides a daily atmosphere and the inspiration for much of her present work as an interpreter of nature in many forms.
Daphne has exhibited regularly during the past several years in London and the Home Counties, including Hatfield House, the Mall Galleries and Harrods in South Kensington, London.
Many of Daphne’s paintings have been licensed worldwide on various products.
