About Ame

Ame has been fascinated by art and painting since the age of five when he was given his first set of watercolour paints. However, it is only recently that he has begun to dedicate more of his time to painting, emulating a character in a book he wrote who gives up everything to live for his art. He has found his 'ikigai', the Japanese term for reason for living.

Taking inspiration from van Gogh and Hokusai's vibrant use of colour Ame now works exclusively in oils on a large scale.

To date he has sold a number of original oils and limited edition prints and is looking forward to the opportunities that art licensing can bring.
