New Artist: Lucy Nicholson. We are thrilled to announce that Lucy Nicholson has joined Image By Design.
Lucy is a well established and known illustrator based in Liverpool, UK.
Her formal artistic journey began with a foundation diploma from Leeds College of Art,
followed by a degree in illustration and animation from Kingston University London.
Lucy has even found the time to earn a degree in English Language from Manchester University!
For eight years, Lucy worked as the lead graphic designer in the marketing department of a Fortune 500 company.
At the same time, she also ran and managed her own greeting card and giftware business, Lucy Maggie Designs,
suppling her illustrated products to various renowned retailers such as Selfridges, Oliver Bonas, Tesco, and Sainsburys.
Following the birth of her daughter, Lucy decided to leave her graphic design position to focus fully on her business and freelance illustration projects,
including illustrating and typesetting children’s books. She has a particular passion for character illustration, with a special fondness for drawing cats.
Lucy’s work is characterized by a bright, colourful, and playful style, often injected with resonant humour.
Her studio, located in the Baltic Creative campus in Liverpool’s city centre, also functions as a shop.
She loves interacting with customers and hearing them enjoy the humour in her cards and gifts.
