About Sven

Sven Shaw is an illustrator and painter based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK. Since graduating with a first class honours in Graphic Design in 2005, he has had various roles in design and illustration including Hallmark cards, the National Media Museum, NHS England, the Science Museum and the V&A.

Sven is influenced by the minute detail in books by authors like Martin Handford and Anthony Browne. With that as his jumping off point, he creates illustrations that are absorbing, detailed and packed with humour.

His work is initially hand drawn in pen and ink, before being coloured digitally. He is also a prolific mural painter, working using paint pens and emulsion paint.
