About Malenda

Malenda, a preacher’s daughter, born in Dayton, Ohio and raised in Tyler, Texas has painted professionally for over 40 years.

Malenda is a self-taught artist who knew early in life where her path would lead. Her parents met in art class at college and for Christmas each year Malenda received art paper, coloured pencils and water colours from which she created her first works.

Working primarily in oils on canvas, Malenda’s distinctive style has bold flowing lines, vibrant colours and textures and has often been labelled “Romantic Impressionism.” Her art is full of a rich palate of colours and tones that provide a depth to her work.

A well known portraitist, Malenda has painted many prominent Americans including presidents, senators and sports personalities as well taking commissions from the public.

Malenda has had great success licensing her art worldwide onto many products.
